73 Vette L82 vs. 88 Rx7 n/a

my buddy just got a 73 vette and wanted to hit the dragstrip. to be completly honest, i went for moral support. My fc is set up for auto cross....not drag racing. but when i found out that it was 5 dollar a run night...i couldn't resist. I lined up against this 240 hp beast of a vette sporting it L82 badge with its 9:1 compression ratio, and the legendary CORVETTE stamped across the rear. and that, was the last i saw of the rear of that car. i stomped him and ran a 15.5 with a lucky reaction time. he pissed and moaned all night long....and eventually got me to run him again by paying me the 5 bucks to run. i seriously think that the 7 is flawless....another 15.5 with another lucky reaction time. Got him again. i told him he shoulda got a rotary...he just glared at me. lol:lol:

fucking WIN! I've always wanted to race one of those post-72 C3 Corvettes. They're not really any faster than an s4 n/a, which coincidentally is what I drive.

What are your mods? 15.5 is too low for a bone stock n/a.

Full 2.5 racing beat exhaust, greddy intake cone, completely gutted interior, super lightwieght rims, falken tires, emissions elimination, MSD pack, stand alone fuel controller, bigger fuel injectors, no ac, no ps, electric fan (at the time), stage 3 clutch, mazdaspeed short shift, on a rebuilt motor with 3mm apex seals....lots of other little things.

i probally could have run faster if my fuel controller was tuned properly. i think it held me back quite a bit...and my injectors suck balls....i sent them to a place to redo them and they came back worse. and i'm still running the stock flywheel.

Is your friend still with us ? Because he should've killed himself by now. Are you sure it wasn't a "Chevette"? ;)

What was your "lucky" reaction time? Nice kill though. ;)

IDK if these reaction times are that great....but i stomped my buddy....he couldnt get under .0987

Mine were .0398 and .0405......i honestly thought i red lighted it both times.....i would just start half way through the last yellow light....i dont really give to shits about drag racing
