GB:RE-Amemiya AD-GT Widebody Kit.........who want this?
I have to apologize for the delay in posting the fitment pics. We actually got the hood test fitted again during the past weekend but I just have not gotten time to get on here. As you can see in the pictures, it's been raining forever in the bay area for the past couple weeks so please excuse the dirty looking hood and car.
The overall fitment is fine except the front as we mentioned last time. The passenger side shows minor fitment issue during this test fit but this problem was not present during the last test fit. However, this tiny gap can easily be adjusted since as you can see, the driver side gap between the hood and fender is a little too small anyways. We have already notified the factory to fix the mold for future production and they already started working on it. So what we will have to do about this batch is to offer a huge discount to get rid of them in "AS-IS" condition. So if anyone is looking for a hood at a bargain price, just contact us. For those of you who have put down a deposit, we will have to wait for the next batch to ship your hood. If you cannot wait and are willing to take a hood from this batch, we will offer you a good discount, just let us know. So here are the pics:

Just to comment on the fitment you could very easily adjust the hood latch over a bit to fix the fitment issue between the left and right fenders... The only gap that I see being a problem or eye sore would be the front gap... As soon as it gets less messy outside Ill mess with the fitment and see if I can get some better pictures up.

We apologize if things are going slow but we currently have put a lot of loads on the production facility since multiple new projects have just started. So they are doing their best at making things happen as quickly as possible. Also, since the economy is bad, we had to reduce the number of shipments in order to keep the cost to the minimum. So yes, the wait is longer but this is something we have to do in order to stay in business while making these parts happen for everyone.
So we again apologize for the delay and inconvenience but we want to let everyone know that we are already doing whatever we can to make these happen. Thank you for your understanding and patience!

If that economy is bad, maybe you shouldn't start so many new projects. And before starting anything new, maybe you should finish and deliver on the previous projects already in progress. Shipping has nothing to do with a product you haven't even finished yet. What was the point in saying that? You people have either picked the slowest production company on the face of the Earth or they are jacking you around. Either way don't blame your lack of progress on other things than yourself. I have seen dry carbon wide body kits made from scratch in less time than it has taken your company to make a copy of something. If I don't have a hood, that fits perfectly as promised by May 1st, I'm filing a claim with Paypal. And I mean in my hands, not "on it's way". That gives you a month. Which after having paid money 10 MONTHS ago, is far longer than you should get.
Hate to say I agree with him becasue Im a supporter in JKL and I trust them 100% but projects are taking longer than quoted and I am sorry to all those waiting. In Kevins defense he is a very honerable person and he has recently taken on the work load of two people. I know he might lack a little in the update department but I know for a fact he is pushing the factory to finish these products as soon as possible. If you need any help Kevin just shoot me a PM.

I know you guys are waiting patiently and are pushing me to get the products asap. I am doing the same thing to the production facility. But sometimes, pushing doesn't really mean anything if they are already doing the best they can.
Like I explained before, we cannot arrange the production shipment until we get enough products due to the fact that we have to minimize the cost on our end. Specially for this project, we have literally lost so much money already due to the small amount of orders and the first batch fitment problems.
Again, I want to let everyone know that I did not forget about this project, obviously, and I am on top of this. It's just we have to handle these things differently now due to the bad economy and declining sales.

Its been a few months without any mention of the actual GT AD kit. Ive been periodically checking up on this thread for about a year in hopes of seeing a high quality alternative to spending 8k on a goddam aero kit. As much as I cringe at the idea up buying a fake, I cant justify dropping that kind of money on a kit that will inevitably end up becoming one of the many archaeological artifacts scattered about Buttonwillows runoff.
Im really hoping you guys are successful in your efforts though so far the results dont look terribly convincing.
Looking forward to seeing the quality/fitment of a final piece.

Sorry about the lack of activity on the forum lately, got too many things need to be taken care of at a time.
As we mentioned before, we will get you the hoods you have been waiting for, it is just a matter of time right now. I understand that some of you have been waiting for a long time and I am aware that this is totally our fault. We are trying our best right now to make this happen at the minimum amount of additional cost we have to put into this. So please bear with us and we will hand you the parts along with an additional discount. Thank you again for your understanding!

I just got home and unwrapped the parts in the box. I got all the parts for my widebody, except for the undersweep, maybe they are shipping it together with my hood due to the similar dimensions? Looks good so far. Came with all the screws and bolts. Probably gonna try testing the fitment tomorrow. I'm in no hurry though, since I blew my engine.
It takes time... the facts that you fail to look at is another company wouldnt even touch this project and JKL decided to take it on... Look at the original post they opted to take on this project if they took on 15 orders... How many orders did they get? About 8 which means they had to come out of pocket more than they wanted to to make this happen for US... So if they need to save money where-ever possible I understand... As far as the hood they agreed to take it on with 10 orders how many orders did they get? 6 So once again instead of waiting they started the project to try and get it out as quick as possible in which case they came out with the hood, but to there surprise the original from RE had fitment issues. They are trying to finish up these projects trust me Im sure they dont like having yours or their money hanging out there but it just irritates me to see posts like this on projects. I understand your frustration but honestly at the price we are getting these pieces with better fitment then original at half the price how can you really complain? How irritated would you be if you bought a orginal RE hood in CF for 2k waiting 4 months then got it and it didint fit? I understand your being patient but its not like there is no communication Im sure if you gave Kevin an Emial he would get back to you with any questions you have. But as far as updates if there are none why drag it out?

Yes, for any project, you can probably finish it in half the time frame as any company does if you got more funding to put in. The problem here right now is the funds, you can always have something done much quicker if you have the money to drive it. We do not want to make excuse for all these delays and we understand your frustration. But we, as a business, have to face the fact that money makes the decision, not us. If we have gotten enough orders for this project to begin with, we would have gotten things taken care of within a much shorter amount of time. When we only throw a 4 piece order for each mold to the production facility, there aren't enough motivation involved when they got other orders that provides much more quantity and profit.
A promise is a promise, we, as the business, will keep up to our promise as we should so we will try our best to deliver the product we promised to offer. And we are not forcing you to understand, instead, we are hoping that you can try to bear with us for a bit longer and we will deliver the products as promised.
Things happen while running a business, specially when economy just sinks this quickly. So we are trying our best to take care of things to the best extent we possibly can.
Thanks to everyone again for your understanding and patience!
