WI Ultimate Newbie

Hey, my names TJ i'm from southwest Wisconsin and have recently started looking at the fc. The reason I started looking is because I want to get a car make my dd and to get better with drifting. I have looked at the 240sx and I love it, but I'm on a budget and for what I want to do, the usual sr20det swap, I don't want to pay more than $1000 on a body with no rust with or without engine. Which is happening everything even close to me is really rusty or expensive and i'm on a budget. So, I started to look at the fc RX-7 and I'm finding them to be alot cheaper with so few miles I wouldn't need to swap or rebuild it. Thats why i'm here, so any cool stories about your rx7 or helpful advice like, go turbo or NA and why, or places to find good upgrades.

One last thing, I've very good reviews from Godspeed coilovers on 240sxfourms so just wondering what's your guys experiences. Where is a good place to get a swap website, local, or alaska lol i'm willing to drive almost anywhere. Lastly, I think, any basic information on rotary engines NO ONE from around here has delt with them. Thanks.

T.J.

Whats up T.J. im elijah from SF Valley in California. Ive had two FCs before and they are great cars, the only reason they have low miles is because its been rebuilt cause life on rotary engines are a little short. I loved the ride and i loved the car so it wont be bad at all for you to get one, turbo or not gives a nice kick off the line. So have fun on the forum man hope to see pictures soon!

TJ, we are almost neighbors! Just drove the RX to Dubuque this weekend. Stell runs great. '87 Sport Edition w/167K. Owned it since '88. Blue w/ clear coat peeling in areas but no rust. It is on Craig's list for $3200. Some normal age related issues but does run quite nicely. Let me know if you want more info.

i am also trying to decide between an fc and an s14. nowadays, 240s are so ridiculously overpriced. everyone thinks their car is worth 3x more than it really is! my deciding factor was when i went to formula drift. just about 1 of every 3 cars there was a 240 of some sort.

i have been searching on craigslist only so far. if you find any good sites, please post them here! i need help with the search as well. good luck!

I know some guy was telling me my truck wasn't worth what his 240sx was, but he wouldn't give me any info on it, so I Kelly Blue Booked (KBB) it and a 240sx with 150,000 was maybe $300 dollars off and the guy wanted like an extra $1000 for it. I WAS PISSED lol. FYI I still have the truck if anyones interested. I have been looking at either S4 or S5 turbo or S5 N/A.
