SSM 95 Base w/ 27K miles

Hi All,
New member here, located in upstate NY...after a long long hunt I found a 100% stock SSM base FD. Its a 95 with 27K miles, number 499 of 500 produced in 1995. Car was parked in a collection since 1997. Been looking/saving/waiting for nearly 20 years to find the right one and finally got it. So psyched. Planning to keep it OEM+, with only reliability upgrades made. So far I have had the car gone thru, all new engine/brake/steering fluids changed aluminum AST, downpipe with ceramic coating, silicon hoses. After lots of contimplation, I decided on putting on Ohlins and 20mme spacers on the rear to get the right drive/ride height/fitment. Now just time to enjoy it...well till it goes to bed for the winter. Come spring I think the clutch needs to be replaced, seems to slip at bit on high rpms shifts. Any reccos? OEM or otherwise? Had a centerforce clutch on my Miata and that went bang quick on the track. Here are some pics: |
Welcome! And damn beautiful car. Lucky to find a rare-ish color and low mileage. I envy you, and I'm glad you're keeping it stock.
As for the clutch, ACT seems to be the standard. I've used a few of them and they've all been good. And I imagine you'll keep the clutch stock-ish too, which I highly recommend. |
thanks very much....super happy to have found it and appreciate the clutch recco.
