Greetings all,

My name is Daniel and I live in the Orlando area. I have been patiently saving and searching for a right hand drive FD RX7 and am excited to say I think I have finally found "the one"! I saw the car for the first time yesterday (2/22/2020) and am trying my best to have a pre purchase inspection set up to be performed this week. Shop suggestions local to my area for a PPI would be appreciated.

Regarding the PPI...is it common for both parties to be present? I would like to hear the results first hand. What price should I expect for this inspection? Specifically, I'm looking for a professional's opinion on the current state of the car mechanically, not cosmetically.

Any recommendations on obtaining vehicle history for an import? Looking for a website others have used and trust, if this is even worth my time. It's my understanding that the 10 digit VIN stamped in the firewall is more of a chasis code rather than a true vehicle identification number and doesn't provide much information?

For now, the car will remain a mystery as I do not want this one going anywhere. Following the PPI I will post pictures and more information regarding the car if purchased. If not purchased I'll share my reasoning for walking away and what car I was looking at if desired.

I apologize if these questions have already been answered elsewhere, please direct me to the proper thread if so.
