So many questions.....
 

Hey guys, I've never touched a RX anything and i only know the basics of wrenching on cars.... so of course I just decided to throw myself off the deep end and bought a junked out '88 FC that's missing its engine, tranny, and most of its wiring harness. I live in Alaska so these cars aren't at all common up here so there is a pretty slim local knowledge base that I can draw off of. I eagerly await harassing all of you endlessly in the technical forums as I flail about blindly lol. I hope to get it running by the end of next spring. And no... I'm not planning to LS swap it.

Welcome. One thing i highly recomend is to watch all of Aaron Cake's videos about his 76 cosmo build. I am somewhat new to the rotary life as well but after watching his content i feel way more comfortable doing a rebuild and a tear down. He has a great humor and documents so much. His engine tear down and assembly videos, i think ive watched over a dozen times each. Also, its safe to invest in some good remover and give the car a good wash down. You have no clue how much oil leaks out all over the thing. Also, since you dont have an engine to work on, cleaning can keep you motivated in the meantime.

Wiring harnesses are pretty easy to find indecent condition on ebay. Just keep looking online and keep a google doc or a spreadsheet to help keep track of things.

It looks and sounds like you have some work cut for you ahead. However, you're in the right place. Very knowledgeable guys on this board, and many of them are nice, to boot. This is the perfect car for you start a build thread on (in the Gen 2 Builds forum) whenever you get yourself acclimated to the board. A lot of reading and searching for parts over what imagine is a LONG Alaska winter ahead. Good luck.
