Returning member after 15 years

I was a member here ~15 years ago when I had a couple FCs and an FB. I have since migrated to the Porsche game and have a track prepped '89 964.
Now that I have a good career and some disposable income I've been considering an FD; nothing too crazy, no 3 rotors, giant single turbos, etc...

So, thought I'd jump back in the forum to see what's out there as pickings are slim on CL, eBay, etc...

Anyway, here's an obligatory car picture next to my buddy's GT4 at COTA; no rotary love, but a flat 6 hanging out the back of the car is unique, as well.

Thanks,
Joe

Welcome back, Joe. :)

No rotary love? Nevermind that. You get love all day long with a 964.

Thanks! I'm feeling the compulsion to get an FD for the street and build an RX-3 for vintage racing. Be still my beating heart!

Well, it is clear to me that you're not faint of heart! Both the FD and Rx-3 will test your financial mettle, if nothing else. Go for it, Brother. :)

Rx7fb works better with GT4 and 964

Both engines are in the wrong place. :naughty: Gorgeous cars, though! I love the look of your FB and would really like to add a GT4 to the stable. Hopefully with the new 718 GT4 coming out the 981s will come down a bit in price.

Welcome back to the forum Joe! Love the 964! I have a soft spot for Porsches as well and have owned a few 944's. Still have one that I love. Best of luck on your search for that perfect RX-7!

964, Mattig roll cage, BBS race wheel 12" rear😉

Absolutely, it is! Is that an original widebody, or did you modify it?

Porsche didn,t produce a wide body version for this car. Porsche center Max Moritz modify it with OEM parts from the older Porsche turbo. You also need deep dish wheels on the rear cause of the small axle. Sorry the car was sold to an bavarian porsche fan some years ago.

You go for a lightweight Rx7fb now?

Ah, I wasn't sure if it was a factory C4 widebody, or "turbo look" as it's sometimes known. Either way, it's a beautiful car.

I'm not sure what the next car is going to be; my wife might lose her mind if I try and convince her I need another car. I'd really love a 930 turbo or a Ferrari 348, but those will be a tough sell.
