Re-entering the FD scene - and my crazy cars

I used to own an FD from around 2000-2004 when I lived in the UK. I loved that car like no other.

Here's a photo of it:

After that photo I fitted some MS-01s and I drove it around Europe with my cousin. We managed 12 countries in 12 days. I have some great FD stories from that trip.

Anyway, I sold the car and recently moved to the USA. Since I got here last year I've already started building up a new collection of crazy cars. I picked up a stock DeLorean about 18 months ago and using 6 years of research I'd done, I started converting it into a Back To The Future car.

Here's a photo of that car from where we drove it on the railroad tracks (same location they used in Back To The Future Part III at the end):

I also have a huge Cadillac Hearse I'm converting into a Ghostbusters car. My lady owns a "sensible" 2005 Toyota Celica. And we also have a 1978 Mini that I couldn't bear to leave behind in the UK.

So - here I am, ready to start a new RX-7 adventure!

Welcome.

I thought Brits moved to places with better weather than the UK. But you moved to Chicago eh... :) Just kidding.

I'm also a Mini fan. Have an 06 and would like to guy a classic sometime.

Good luck with the cars.

Ha! Mostly we do. It's much more extreme here in Chicago. It's either blizzard or toasty. It seems to be generally less grey though. Which is good.

Oh, and it's affordable to drive a car here. Buying gas for my FD in the UK almost bankrupted me.

Those new Minis are so polarising. I won't make any comment. I love the old ones though. If you've never driven one, you have to try. They're the 2nd most fun car to drive after an FD. They're basically just a street-legal go-kart, with a roof.

Good luck with the cars.
Thanks!

Thanks! I've stripped it all down now, back to the stock DeLorean to start again from scratch. That was a super quick build we put together in 5 weekends, just for that show. I'm doing it properly this time.
