Hopefully I can get it done by spring time so I'll have some fun with it. I'm definitely not selling this car but I guess it would be cool to see what people would pay for it.

I already know that I probably won't get what I put into it and that's one reason I won't put it up for sale but if someone ever offers me a price that make me smile and jump for joy then hell yea I'll sell haha

I love the way the rotary sounds esp turbo. Rb swap gonna be sick.
Awesome looking car man and congrats on going with the swap

Looks nice man keep up the good work.

I would like to say thanks for all the positive comments on this thread. Look out for an FD build thread coming soon. |
Welcome and that is a good swap if 1 day I go back to piston engine (that would never happen lol) I would go RB25DET or 2JZ :) good luck
sweet man - look forward to seeing your build thread! is it difficult to source parts for the RB?
A few years ago when I first started this project it was a little difficult getting parts but now it's easier to find.
Love the combination and looking forward to seeing where your build goes!
Would love a video of this beast. The look and sound combination would be unique.
looks good man... post up some videos when you get it running
That RB25 is much sweeter than any V8 swap you could have done. Motor looks sick man. Cheers from Chi town.
Thanks man.
Good luck with your build, but you should have stuck with the rotary. That is waste of a Mazda I'm just saying!
that is awesome... i love it when people bridge the gap on just making things work... i love it when someone takes something out of one thing and puts it in something else and making it a beast... great job
Looks like it will be a fun swap. Love my 25s.
That thing is going to be so rad when it's all done
Rather see and RB going in than any LS engine
i cant wait to see this thing totally done! its going to be a monster!
There is nothing wrong with an ls swap. It is the same thing as going with an rb. if your taking out the rotary to put a piston engine it dosent matter if its a I6 v8 or even an I4 still a piston engine. I love the rotary but im not a millionare to spend 2k in parts every time the rotary decides to get messed up. The rotary is great i had 3 engines in my second gen but anything over stock power and they dont last long. I had an n/a with 246k on it and ran strong till i boosted it. Im keeping my ls stock with 365tq dont need much else.

Hello everyone, My name is Raz. Firstly I would like to say that I bought my FD with intentions of building a fire breathing dragon lol. I love to sound of the rotary and would still have it in my car if I knew how to work with that motor. I did try working on it with the help of my brother and a friend but after two blown motors I decided to go to a professional. The quote I got was not reasonable and I decided on a transplant. The build is coming along fine but slowly.
Good luck with the build. |
Sick setup bro. Keep up the good work!
Where in Chicago are you? I'm up in the northern suburbs (Libertyville area) and I'd love a chance to see this thing in action when it's ready.
Wow, the cleanest i have seen yet, I actually was thinking about a rb25 or 2jz swap !
