From Puerto Rico, owner of 1988 Mazda RX7 FC! Project 20B!

Hello everyone,

I’m Will and I own a 1988 Mazda RX7(chassis). Currently, I’m working on the restoration of the car and plan to place a 20B(three rotary) engine with sequential transmission.

I will like to connect with individuals who have experience in building 20B engines, sequential transmissions, restoration, custom wiring, and painting.

The reason is this is my dream car and I will like to learn how to build the 20B engine on my own by putting it together other with guidance of experienced people, mechanics, and tuners of course.

the goal is to have a street legal car that is 1500 horse power on the rear wheels with single turbo(if possible). I have researched a little bit upon the bridge port and decided to go with semi-p port.

I also looked up the irons but I’m confused on specially what I need to get and how to set up the block. I know I need the 20B front iron, the intermediate center(thin), center(thick), and 20B rear. However I seen videos on YouTube where you can use a 13B rotary housings to make a 20B? Confusing.

if anyone can provide me insight on what irons I need from front to back for the 20B, it will be very much appreciated!

Thanks for reading!

Regards,

William

Hi thanks for your question. Yes, I bought just like this as you seen in the photos!

This chassis isn’t the version with the turbo rotary engine. You can tell by two factors, the color red(non turbo) and white(turbo), also by looking at the vin#, there is a distinct 1(non turbo) and 2(turbo) to differentiate the both versions of the turbo 2 chassis.

I bought the actually turbo 2(white version) but I couldn’t save it as it was salvage with no title, so I decided to strip all I parts I could that good and intact to use on this build, and have it sent back.

fortunately for me thought when I bought the RX7(my red one) it came with a turbo 13B FC engine. When I check it and look at the block, rotors, it was good but you can tell soon it’ll be gone.

My friend has a technica Japanese edition and wanted to place a rotary because here in PR there was a drag race between a rotary technica and RX7, thus it got gapped.

so I sold him the engine for 5k with the blower as he wanted it. The intercooler kit, etc I sold it cheap.

Thanks for the welcome and the link! Yeah I definitely had to use the curb for lift support for the RX7. I could put it up on my car port but because of the incline, it will not be safe.
