Possibly new to Rx7s

First thing, sorry mods about my other thread in the queue, really wasn't paying attention.

My name is Tony, I've mostly been stuck in the Honda crowd for the past 10 yrs, but I still don't claim 7/8s of them. I've had my 91 Civic hatch since I was 17(im 27 now), its been to both coasts, riced out, gutted out, swapped out, ramped, pulled a 1 ton truck, hit a concrete wall, and recently was rear ended. Its not a pretty car, but its been through hell and back and is still rolling around. But I'm not here because of it, its time to park it in the garage and give it some attention it needs.

Anyways, I have come across an 85 Rx7 GLS-SE that a guy at work is selling for cheap. He has had it for a few years, but never did get it fully running right. He claims it will start up, but will stall out after a little while, but it is able to move around under its own power. When I went to look at it, the battery was dead and had just been put on charge, so we had no luck starting it. If I can get it to atleast show some signs of life, I will finally being joining the Rx7 club. I have always been a fan of the rotary engine, just the simplicity of it amazes me, but this will be the first one I actually get to work with. I do wish it was atleast an 86, I just can't get enough of that body, but its a straight car and has all the extra goodies, and its something new to tinker with.

Well thanks for taking the time to register and welcome aboard, Tony! It's crazy how many GSL-SE's are discovered by the people out there. Start combing through the FAQ section of the 1stgen tech section and you'll find a raft of info to get that beast started and on its way to a full recovery!

Congrats on the find, maihn. :icon_tup:

Its funny because I originally told him I wanted to hear it start before I would make up my mind, but the more I think about it, the more I want it regardless. With it just turning over you could hear the compression coming out of it, so I know its got compression. I mainly just think it needs some attention, he has had it for 3 years, he got it in the same condition its in now, and he isn't sure how long it sat before he got it, last inspection was 2001. I'm hoping to have it in my garage next weekend so I can start messing with it and hopefully have it on the road again soon.
