NEWBIE Needs help with 2nd Gen Turbo
 

HELP! 1987 Turbo with mods

I picked up an 87 with lots of mods… Ran great when it came home… The sat for almost one year in the garage. Just got it out and now, there are problems. Now before anyone says, why did ya buy this thing, I will tell you why…. There were plenty for sale and every one was messed up in some way… This one had photos of the engine on the stand, receipts for the engine and the work done, most of the records from the build were there. AND it was a running car….

Compression is OK, there is a receipt for a fresh short block, another for a fresh turbo rebuild. Just went over all the intake for any vacuum leaks.. All the basic stuff..
It has an HKS-F-Conversion 1. (I do not have a manual or schematic for this)
Injectors are 550cc primary and 680cc secondary. Walbro 255 pump with good pressure.

If I get it to start, it runs very rich. Soon fouls plugs. At times it is getting no spark on crank, but has it off crank. If I take out the HKS, I have spark in crank and run all the time. At idle, it is searching from a few hundred RPMS to about 1500.. Try to run it at higher RPMS about 2000 and it just blows very rich and never clears out….

Inspecting wiring under hood I see plenty of things missing and disconnected. Can not find the wire to the water temp switch.. Most of the smog stuff is long gone and wires taped up inside the harness.

It would help if I had a book for the HKS. Would also help if I had a pure original wiring harness. I thought about going back to total stock, but need a dead parts car for that.

Ideas?
