I joined here quite a few years ago to support my son's own RX-7 project, but never really participated too much- but now that will change. I recently went on a search for a convertible- I sold my C5 Corvette vert in the beginning of '16, and have been missing one ever since. After a drive to Raleigh to look at a 986 Boxster that proved disappointing, I came across a Craigslist ad for a 1988 RX-7 convertible that looked intriguing. The Mrs. and I went to check it out and I was sold, so here I am, now a proud rotary-engine convertible. Here she is:

She sure seems to be in great shape, and I plan to take her to the next level. I'm certainly going to be digging for knowledge from the collective here. I'm not exactly a Wankel virgin- I did own a '04 RX8 GT and loved that car too. I sold it so I could get a pickup to move from SFLA, but that was 10 years ago. My son has a '88 vert that has been V8 swapped, but he does have a good deal of Wankel experience.

That red looks absolutely beautiful, seems like it could've rolled right off the lot as it is! The leather barely even looks crinkled and cracked at all too. I have also heard that the red paint on these FC's are really easy to fade in the sun, so I am surprised on how well the paint looks! Have fun with it!

Looks very clean. How do you like the experience with the top up? Noisy, or is it a pretty solid seal? Any water leakage issues?
