GA New to it all

Hello everyone. My name is Max. I've always been into cars but never jumped into it until my friend took me drifting in his 95 318ti. I knew at that moment i needed a car of my own to work on. So after going to a few cars shows I found out that I LOVE JDM!!! Did a bit of research on JDM cars and fell in love with the RX-7. Every little thing about it just lights a little spark in me. After a few weeks of craigslist hunting, I stumbled upon an '85 RX-7 GS for $700. Without hesitation I called him up and drove down there to take a look at it. He was a very nice older fella' who didn't have much interest in Mazda's (more of a GTO kinda guy). Told me that all it needs was a Carb rebuild and a new accelerator pump to get it moving. He started it with a squirt bottle in hand. The engine starting gave me the chills. I knew this was it. Anyways, after 4 days of patient waiting my dad got a guy to tow it to our house for only $80. Felt bad for the guy, being that he had to drive through a rare snowstorm in "GEORGIA" to get here. But in the end he was happy, I was happy and, so was she. I thought of a few names for her but "Cheri" really stuck with me. My dad used to call my mom that when i was younger. Means "Darling" in French. To be totally honest, I didn't know a thing about cars but I am really will to learn. So be forewarned, I will be asking a lot of questions. (By the way, it's a BIIIIGGGG fixer upper. I'll post more pictures when the snow melts)
