New Member and Rotary Owner from Ontario

Heya guys, my name is Robb and I'm from the Niagara Falls area of Ontario.

Just picked up my '94 Montego Blue RX7 Type R this week as it finally made its way over from Japan :D

In my spare time, I enjoy working on my car (daily is a '00 Integra currently), as well as my buddies' cars, and going for nice drives down the parkway for ice cream and coffee :P

Been lurking the forums for a bit before I registered, and now that I finally picked up my baby, I figured it was time to join! Can't wait to learn from these forums, and hopefully meet up with some of you guys down the road!

I'll post some pictures when I get back to a computer :P

Finally got some time to sit down at a computer, here's the pictures as promised :D
The shifter is probably the worst part about the car, other than that it's in incredible shape for a 21 year old vehicle, and I'm really excited to get it going!

Hi Robb and welcome aboard! Thanks for joining us. Congrats on your RX7 - it looks great. Do you already have any plans on it? A lot of good info here regarding mods in case you are thinking of doing any. Check out some of the garages and you may get some ideas.

Thank you!
It'll get it's fair share of work in due time.. For now, I just want to enjoy it at a fairly stock state, with reliability mods of course. Eventually it'll turn into my track toy, but I'm hoping to keep it Street legal in the long run :D
I've already learned tons just from reading up, and I keep saying to my friends that I'm so excited to be on such an intelligent forum. Coming from Honda forums (for my daily Integra) where there's so much nonsense, flaming, etc., it's such a relief to be able to find such good information without even having to search through the depths of everything.

Hello and welcome,

I'm currently shopping through a company in Japan for an FD rx7. Its a brutal process as I can't drive or see the car myself.

Glad you got a good one :)

It's definitely an interesting process. It's hard to try and justify the whole "I'm going to give these people a whole lot of money for a car I've never seen in person before" aspect. Thankfully, I bought mine out of a dealership in Japan, so lots of pictures were included, which gave a bit more peace of mind. My buddies and I still joked that when we went to pick it up, it was actually going to be a Daihatsu Midget. Good thing it wasn't :P

In the end, it's so much better (especially for Canadians, Ontario specifically where rust is extremely prevalent) to get a car out of Japan. The car has 0 rust and the price if I had found a local one would have been an extra 25-50% more.

It looks very nice, congrats
