Hi all: New Memeber - Franco, Italian in Mexico

In 1993 I bought in Maracaibo-Venezuela an Rx-7 FD3S R-1 Vintage Red used but with only 1200 miles. It was originally bought in Miami and taken to Venezuela.

In 1994 I drove it to Bogota-Colombia where it remained parked for about 4 months until I flew it to Sao Paulo-Brazil. There it was seized by the Customs and only after 9 months I managed to recuperate it (it was stored in the warehouse at Guarulhos airport). I drove it around Brazil for about 10 months when the engine broke, as I did not know that the fuel in Brazil had 21% alcohol, and this caused the apex seals to burn.

In 1997 I flew the car to Miami where I met Cam Worth at Pettit Racing. While in Miami I saw this superb dark blue RX-7 FD (BMW M3 metallic blue paint) with silver stripes across, met the owner and a few days later I bought the car from him.

I took both cars to Cam and had him swap the blue car engine into the red RX-7 and put in the blue one a 20B engine, yes, a 3rotor, probably the first one Cam did completely.

In 1998 I went to live in Aventura, FL, and while my wife used the red car I drove the 20B myself.

In 2000 I sold the 20B to Cam and he used it for the One Lap of America and was his Halo car until 2006 when he sold it.

In 2002 I shipped the red RX-7 to Mexico and used it until 2007 when I stopped it because it needed some spare parts and I did not have time to fix it, and I kept it parked in my garage until this year when I took it to a good mechanic shop where we are about to get it running again.

New engine (Pettit), new suspension (Pettit), new NT01 tires, Carbon Fiber interior, etc.

Will post when it is ready…..
