New Member from Mesa, AZ
Hello forum members. I am brand new to the RX7 clan and recently purchased my first specimen, a worn and battered 1982 GSL with a 5-speed. It currently does not have an engine and the interior is pretty well gone. My intentions are fairly simple with it, I bought it as a potential 24 Hours of Lemons car and at this point I am pretty well set on putting a small block V8 in it instead of buying the other half of the 12A engine I would need, and rebuilding it for about the same cost as the V8. I'm sure this aggravates some of the die hard rotary heads here, but when you're building a car with $500 you don't have much to work with and the increased power output of the V8 is enticing.
As for me, I have worked in the auto industry for the past 10 years in some capacity, and have been doing my own mechanical work for the past 15. I have built a few dirt circle track 4-cylinder cars in the past and would love to build some more. In the past I have found forum boards very useful, especially ones with a decent set of guidelines like this one. Hopefully my membership here can be mutually beneficial to myself and other members.
