Hello all. My name is Ben. I finally have the RX-7 I jave lusted after for years. To sum up the long story...Years ago My best friend finds and buys a 79 for $600. Rotton to the core but runs great. A couple years later he buys the 1985 I now have. Real clean runs ok but not as good as the SA. We do everything together on it. Smog delete.Lots of fun. Motor dies and we put the SA motor in it. He sells it to my brother. My bro has carb work done but gas tank is leaking. It sits for a couple years. My brother fixes tank but never installs it.It sits a few more years. Finally my bro agrees to sell it to me.
I LOVE this car I always have. Im bringing it back to life. Motor turns free and easy. Except carb was running great before. Carb has been professionally redone. So it should (fingers crossed) go without to much trouble.

Question fir the forum, with 12a housings no longer available o I try to get my 12a or another rebuilt and hope for the best come tax time or swap a 13b or 13bturbo? Budget is $5000 I can do work.

Welcome. Good looking project. I'm not to far away from you. I am on the Ohio, Indiana border. I'm about a hour and thirty minutes or so from the Indy area.

Man, that is a pretty serious amount of rust. I hope you're good with sheetmetal and a welder
