Hey fellow gearheads,

My name is Noah and I currently live in the San Francisco, bay area. I'll be honest and say that I don't currently own an FD, but have been researching them as a possible track car to replace my Evo IX.

First some pictures of my current car for fun as I believe it makes for a good introduction:

From my very last event (I've been moving, so I haven't had time to hit the track in 2015 yet):

Fast forward to six years of HPDE and DIY garage wrenching has lead me to this crossroads. Before I purchased my Evo I used to daily a 2000 Integra Type-R # 933, but nothing can really compare to an Rx7 FD. I feel I've matured enough to move from turbo AWD cars and step into something N/A and RWD. Obligate pictures of my old Type-R:

I've had my Mitsubishi evolution for seven years and one month as of today. The last few months I've found myself starting to look at other cars to flog on the track, but more specifically the Rx7 FD. I have a thing for unicorns, special models or rare and hard to find vehicles that often outperform other vehicles 2-3x the cost.

I've always lusted after the Rx7 FD, but forgot about it over ten years ago because of where I was in my career and the cost of ownership.

Bay Area + 'teg type R. You must have kept that thing in a vault! I'd be afraid to park that car anywhere around here. Gone in 1/60th of a second.

Welcome to the club, Noah. There are plenty of nice FDs around the bay..I'm sure you'll find a clean one once the evo is sold.

The few times I had to park it on the street it was with a Rhino wheel boot. (Not my car, but you get the idea. Funny that it's also a Type-R!)

Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep those nights.

I miss that car all the time, but it was stressful to own, no question.
