My name is Sabrina and I am new to it all. So new in fact I don't even have my car yet. I purchased a 1988 rx7 converible from my friend in CA. I'ts not running so will have to haul it to AZ and hoping to do it soon.

I love convertibles but sell real estate for a living and 2 door cars don't work for that. Hubby said "we're not paying insurance on a car that sits in the driveway half the year" So I bought my youngest daughter a used sebring vert when she turned 16. I would switch cars with her every chance I got until she moved 60 miles away and took her car with her.

I have been trying to figure out how I'm gonna get another and which one.

Husband said if you sell the horse you can get a vert. Well I sold the horse and thought the Mercury Capri they made from 91-94 would be best because of the hard top option and the AZ sun being so brutal (I have no garage).

Then my friend mentioned she had a 88 Rx7 that she bought new but has been sitting in her garage for the last 8 years. We made a deal and now she's mine. I am new to Mazda's and rotory but what I've read is very exciting and I know this car is way better than the Capri.

So here I start my new adventure. I know I'm gonna need a lot of information so will be visiting this site often.

Welcome to the forum. I'm sure you'll find the RX7 much more fun than a Capri or Sebring. It's a totally different kind of car. Since you mentioned it will be outside all the time, a good car cover will go a long way towards preserving the top and the paint. I've been using covers like this one: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-11102/ for years now, and because they're so cheap it's not a big deal to replace them if they wear out/get stolen (yes, people steal car covers). Good luck.

Thank you all, for all the warm welcomes! This site has become invaluable! I have been working on my car and have gotten it from a seized engine to cranking over but havent gotten her started yet. Had to order new spark plugs and they are ready for pickup now. I'm in Prescott AZ and can't find a rotory mechanic so I'm reading lot's and lot's of threads here then going out and tinkering with the car. My husband thinks I'm insane. He might be right. I would love to meet up with other 7 owners please let me know of any and all gatherings here in the South West.
Thanks again
