Hi folks,
I found the forum today after searching the net for a good RX7 forum. To be honest I haven’t had an RX7 since ‘96, when I rolled it on turn 7 at Lime Rock. I’m looking to post up some take-off stuff in the marketplace as soon as I get permission. Here’s an old pic, summer 1996 at Rockingham with the street wheels and tires I used to drive down to the track with. Its a pleasure to meet you guys, and I’m glad this incredible little car still has a following. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...15563c274.jpeg |
Welcome! Seems crazy to think of ownership from that long ago. Thanks for sharing the picture.

If only they still made them, they were truly incredible cars. If I could only find a garage queen R2. But unfortunately that is highly unlikely. These cars were built for enthusiasts, driven hard and put away wet. Looking back, I can still remember missing a gear at turn 4 or 5 of the “Bridge”. Instead of shifting up, I accidentally downshifted while simultaneously flooring it. Before I could correct my mistake, I saw the tach go completely off the scale…. And what happened? Nothing! I quickly put it in the right gear, floored it, and she leaped like cat. It truly was an incredible car, lightweight, nimble, perfectly balanced, everything going for it. |
