I am the original owner of a 1979 RX7. It is one of the early ones delivered with only one side view mirror on the drivers side. I backed it into the garage 30 years ago. I am looking to find someone to bring it back to a driver.

Welcome!!! Great to see another original owner find their way here. Would deflove to see pictures of the car and hear about your buying experience. Did you order the car or was it on the lot or showroom? Is it an S or a GS? Any special options or accessories?

We have plenty of resources and knowledge that can help guid you through whatever it is that the car will need. If you were closer to Ohio, I would offer to lend a hand these cars are brought back to life fairly easily in most cases.

Before you hit the 1st Gen tech section and we go in depth there..this is only an intros section.. I have some things to keep in mind that you will likely have to replace or go through to get the car operational and road worthy.

The fuel system will be your biggest challenge, as likely everything is gummed up with old fuel. Carb rebuild and fuel tank cleaning will be first on the list if the engine turns over and the compression pulses are strong and even. Tires, brakes, vacuum lines, fluids, filters, belts, hoses, ignition components, maybe some suspension stuff if the shocks are weak or the idler arm bushings have crumbled. Those are just some things that may need attention. We can go in depth in the 1st Gen section with any questions you may have regarding those items.
