My name is John Cartier, and I live in Ridgeville, Ontario. Most recently my son acquired a 1982 Mazda with 60K Km on it. I joined the Forum to gain some advice on Projects that we will be undertaking and also to try and locate hard to find parts. I'm certainly hear to share our experience and knowledge as we go, but we are just beginning the journey,

Thanks. To be honest, we will be doing minimal work (EG Carb Rebuild), as the vehicle only has 60K KM and has never seen a winter

Welcome to the forum!

If you have any photos of the car please share, we love photos here

Before you touch the carb please be sure to do lots of reading and research here. I know that once you touch the floats you can open a can of worms that you may not need to. Also aftermarket floats/needles can be problematic. Not sure what state yours is in, but on my '83 all it took was a few tanks of gas with plenty of seafoam and some regular driving to get it running properly again.

Best of luck!
Tom
