New to a lot of things.

Hullo all.

I've been browsing this forum since I got my car back in October '07. It's an '88 GXL, single owner prior to me. Older gentleman who seems to have taken very good care of the car. Lots of maintenance records came along with it. I'm about to start putting money into it, so I figured now is as good a time as any to register.

The day I bought it was the day I learned to drive manual. 40 miles during rush hour on a Friday, awful. I changed the oil, headlamps, spark plugs, plug wires, threw in a K&N air filter and haven't done anything but change the oil since. I'm looking at suspension and exhaust mods and that's about it. My heart and money are torn between what I have and what I want (3rd gen).

I've run into a couple things I need/want to fix, but beyond that I haven't the mechanical aptitude to check the condition of the engine/trans/chassis/running gear for other problems. My windows fight to go up and down, my power steering cuts out randomly, my car idles weird, and like any good, old car the air conditioning is shot.

Well, I got my first post out of the way. Thanks for listening, and any advice is welcome. I've never posted in a car forum, because my first two cars were nearly identical '84 and '89 Lincoln Town Cars. Long story. :)
