New to this life
 
Hey guys, my name is Cole and I absolutely love Rx7s and am currently looking to get into some forums and find out some advice for buying one, things to look for, etc. I would also love to see some of y’all’s builds and get some ideas for myself. Imma attach pics of the one I’m looking at now, let me know what y’all think.

dont buy an fd that has no history. if you want to waste your money, you can paypal it to me instead.

@cr-rex that's a bit harsh, don't you think?
for a car that's almost 30yrs old, its really hard to find one with good history.
if you're mechanically inclined and not afraid to get your hands dirty, there's nothing scary about this car.
most important and expensive thing being the engine, do your research on what to look for and check when looking at the car.
if something can't be verified, then offset the price accordingly.
also keep in mind, sourcing parts getting harder every day, since they're not made anymore...

not harsh. the truth. there are other FDs available that dont live in gravel lots among other plateless cars. if youre financially stable to have an expensive driveway ornament then buy any FD you can get your hands on. the cheap ones that seem like "deals" are the ones to stay away from. sellers know what an FD can bring and are typically pretty firm on an already overpriced gamble.

if youre not scared to spend it all chasing mysteries where you could have just bought a sorted car to begin with then go for it homie. live your best life

Welcome to the forum!! The car appears to be in decent shape but I would definitely go over it as thoroughly as you can and if possible do a compression test with a rotary compression tester or have it done at a shop that specializes in rotaries or at a Mazda dealer. It appears to be a right hand drive example and that could complicate things when buying some parts.

If the price is right and you love the car then go for it. If you're on the fence then keep looking. My rule of thumb is that when I'm spending good money on a car, I buy the best example I can afford. I research the car and find out as much history on the car that I am able. That includes owner history, repair history, crash history, and overall maintenance. I ask why they are selling the car and how long have they owned it. Known issues, recent repairs etc.
