Hey whats up! You wouldnt happen to own a red FD would you? I have only seen one red FD around here in about the last 8 years or so and its the same guy driving it. Maybe whenever I get my car we could hook up somewhere and just BS.

Awesome! I actually just bought and FD today from a member on here. Its a shell (no engine/trans). So whenever I get around to building it, it would be cool to have some people that own them to help me out with it. Where abouts in NO are you located?

i live in destrehan and you. i also have an engine an tranney. tranney needs a clutch and engine needs to be rebuilt

I'm in Metairie. Thats pretty cool, we are only about 15 mins away. Ill let you know what I decide to do. Im still up in the air about a rotary, and I have a few different sources for LS engines, so I'm going to weigh my options before I make any decisions.

You guys should check out Gorilla RE in Kenner. I store cars/parts there and have many FD parts for sale. Jonthan can rebuild engine/transmission - mild to wild.

If you want to go LS, sell the FD and put it in something less rare.

Jack

Hey, I'm also new to the forum and picked up an FD a few weeks ago, but am from Lake Charles. I plan on going the LS route though. so if you start looking for parts, I might have what you need. Also, I should make it out to IFO. Would be nice to check out y'alls cars.

Is IFO at NPR or State Capitol? Might have to get out there and maybe meet some of you guys. My car should be here by the end of next week, then I can get to working on it.

Awesome thanks for that info. Like I said im still up in the air about it. I don't see how an LS swap would be any different from some of the other bastardized RX-7's I've seen over the years. Ive also seen some pretty clean swaps. LS, 2JZ, 20B, etc. Its not like it's an irreversible swap or anything.

Also, Ive been wanting this car since before I could drive. The first time I remember seeing one was back in 1996. My father took me to my first drag racing event, and I saw one there and knew that was the only car I would ever be happy in. Something leads me to believe that I will never sell this car. I've waited too long to get into one, so I'm going to build it how I want it built. Whether it be rotary or otherwise.
