New guy ~ Portugal

Hey, my name is Francis, and Ive been looking around this forum for a couple of months now. I came by this place when I was searching info about rx-7´s, and I loved all the useful threads you have around here.
So, I still dont have a car ( im 18, just reached legal driving age in my country) and I started looking for a car.

I didnt want to get a boring car, a hatchback, like everyone does ( I live in Portugal,so..) So i started looking around for some other cars..After allot of search, ( I started my quest for a first car about 2 years ago) I had rounded up some candidates:
an e30, a miata, an e36, 240 sx, and an rx-7.
After some searching and advice, I rulled out the bmws. people would say it would be unreliable and parts would be expensive. The miata is a fine car from what I hear people say about it, but the 240 and rx-7 seemed cooler, and better. So at this stage, Im all over 240 forums, hearing how good they are, etc etc, but there was something about it, its looks, i dont know..
So I started looking around for rx-7´s, and found a couple of FB´s and and FC that were within my price range. I just fell in love with their looks and since then,Im planning on getting one.
At first I heard everyone saying how bad and unreliable these engines were, but after some searching ( allot of it in this forum I might add) I understand that if taken care of, the engine will last with just minor maintenance ( oil and coolant, warming it up right, not letting it flood, rev it daily etc, ( I think those are the most important things) )

So, if anyone is reading this, I commend you. It is getting pretty long, so I ll just get on with it.

So Im planning on getting an fb. Its relatively cheaper than the fc. The thing is, there is an fc for sale very cheap ( an early one i think) , the only problem being the guy dissassembled the engine, because the rotor broke ( in his words ). He said he gave it to a mechanic to fix it, and it just got worse.
Would it be worth it, hard to fix?

And last question: Is there anyway I could calculate the emissions of an fc or fb? I got some stats from a forum :

High RPM (25 mph)
HC(PPM) 77
CO(%) 0.05
Low RPM (15 mph)
HC(PPM) 79
CO(%) 0.07

Is there anyway I could find out its emissions in gram per kilometer ( co2 g/km) ?

It would mean allot to me If anyone could help me out, as I tried searching this on the forum and couldnt find anything.

Francis
