New to the club!

Hey my name is Chris French, I live on the east coast of Canada on Prince Edward Island. I am a new member to RX-7 Club and I am loving it so far. There is so much useful info and I like to read other peoples stories, see what they drive and the projects they are working on. October 22 2009 was when I bought my non turbo 87 RX-7 GXL. It had 160,000 kms and was almost mint, no rust anywhere, underneath looked like new and it ran very well for the amount of kms it had on the motor. I am currently driving it as my daily driver in the summer and I take it to car shows and occasionally to the drag strip, but don't worry it has never seen and will never see snow... I have a 96 4 Runner as my winter beater for now. I used to own an 89 Nissan 240 SX, ever since then I was into the older Japanes sports cars. I do have future plans for my car; I was thinking a rebuilt 13B with a big turbo or even a rebuilt 2.0L 3 rotor twin turbo. Either way when I'm done with it, it will be a crazy little machine with BIG POWER!... Project "ZOOM"
Sorry' I have no pics of my car yet, but hopefully soon.
If anyone would like to comment or give there thoughts or suggestions I would love to see them!

Well, dang, Chris, how is it you've had an RX-7 since 2009 and you're only just now getting around to find out about RX-7 Club?

Thanks for taking the time to register, come out of the shadows and welcome aboard to RX-7 Club!

Myself, at 160 km mileage (that's about 100,000 english miles, right?), I'm thinking you just need to worry about replacing a lot of wearable items and tuning on the safe side. No point killing off the engine unless you know of a cheap shortblock somewhere.

Yeah right now I'm just focusing on the maintenance, It won't be till a while down the road that I do anything major to it. I'm just going to drive it till that engine has had enough, then make a project out of it.
Thanks for the reply.

I'm also new, make sure you have enough resources for the maintenance and enough budget on that.
