New 1993 FD RX7 Owner. Finally!

Hey,

After a few years of saving up and looking, I bought my 1993 FD RX7 R1 last summer. I've done a few things to it since I picked it up, but not much.

Pictures below.

Very sharp R1!! Are the seats still in good shape? looks to have been very well cared for!

Vintage red is still my favorite color, great looking R1. Hope to find one of my own soon enough.

Thanks!

Currently, I'm just planning to continue enjoying the car as it is and keep up with maintenance/repairs. I've got the car looking how I want with the wheels, wing, and lights (I have some carbon bits that aren't in the pictures). I've always wanted a '99 spec front end, but I'm not so sure now... the '93 has grown on me. Engine wise, it's been great (other than an oil leak I had). I fixed some suspension clunking in the rear, but haven't gotten rid of it all, and I'm waiting on AWR front stabilizer bar brackets (stock driver side is slightly bent). I've been thinking about getting some better coilovers than the Teins I have on it now.

Thanks! The seats are in great shape. No tears or wear marks, but the plastic ends on the seat belt straps on top are both cracked. When I was looking for the car, an interior in good shape was a must.

Thanks! They do look a little shinier in the pictures I guess, I love how they look in person. They are Advan TCIIIs in Hyper Silver.

Thanks! It's a FEED Afflux rear wing.

There is another wing that goes under that one. I've only ever seen both installed once in a picture.

I've seen them both on Fujita's website, but never both on a car. I've only seen the large one on their widebody cars, and in this old thread. I actually bought the wing from one of those guys in the thread haha.

The car's looking great Johnathan! The wheels bring it into the 21st century a bit. I never liked the other ones but the guy who had it before had them on there and they kinda grew on me enough that I never ended up taking them off for anything else. I'm really glad you're enjoying the car. I spent a lot of time making sure the details were taken care of (although I didn't quite get to everything). Enjoy the heck out of her. She was built to be driven and should do well for you.

And as always....should you EVER tire of her, I'd be happy to fly up there and take her back. Just let me know! :D
