My Series 6 money pit
finally got my self an FD, which after a few mods proceeded to split the rear housing on the dyno and destroy itself
this was one of those " its been rebuilt" motors , ha ha should have known better, the rear housing was dowelled in the wrong place making it weak and splitting, inside was not much better, munted endplates and stuffed housings, I felt sorry for the dude I bought it off as he had evidence of lots of money spent on said motor and was none the wiser so a few thousands later brand new Mazda sourced 13B , stripped down and cnc bridgeported with fancy seals, link G4 ecu and a nice big turbo, also fixed all the shite wiring other hacks had done just finishing off my TR6060 conversion which I have cut and welded my self , I have all the dxf drawings if anyone is keen , im just in the middle of doing the shifter and drive shaft so its almost ready to go the pic with the big turbo was a massive fail, the turbo caused to much back pressure bending the seals, a refresh fresh and a Borg warner later made for good dyno results Facebook Post https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...0fe0504396.jpg I have managed low 11s on the quarter being nice to the stock gearbox, with the TR6060 im hoping for 10s because ill be able to thrash it harder |

Welcome!! Very sweet FD! Glad to hear its been rebuilt correctly
it should be much more reliable now that you've corrected all of the precious owner's mistakes. |

and i thought the video was going to show this. how may pulls did u get in before the destruction?
next step is maybe the ford exploder rear end mod, I've braced everything including the diff hat mod but with the gearbox and twin plate I think the axles and diff might suffer if the box is good it was a really cheap upgrade, $1500 for the TR6060 and about $200 bucks worth of 6mm plate to cut out all the patterns to adapt it, even retains the factory starter location just like the $6500 kit I seen online that I used the pictures to copy off the cut out for the starter clearance |
Welcome!
