My first RX-7

1985 RX-7 GSL-SE
I just bought it a few weeks ago. Its my first sports car, first Madza, first rotary engine.

It is beautiful, no dents, scratches, clean as can be, 17,500 miles, Shelby Brown. I don't think it has ever been parked outside.
My goal is a stock, reliable weekend cruiser. Insurance company says less than 5,000 miles/year.

Yes, I understand the joys of owning a 35 year old car. I have two good wrench turners, my husband and my son. They are both okay with it being MY car and they said they would help.

There are two issues, the heater core piping appears to be leaking, and the fuel system (pump?) is not working. I'll do a search and then post in the New Member RX-7 Technical.

Looking forward to to being part of the forum and driving my car.

Welcome! Looks great! Post more pics when you get a chance. A fuel pump should be a easy fix for your husband and son.

Welcome to the forum!!! That's a stunning car and one that will only rise in value!! You have one of the best RX-7 examples on the road! The color, Desert Brown, was only available in 85 and is one of the more rare colors that were available that year. I think it looks great! Do you know any of the car's history?

Replacing the heater core is not the end of the world. The dash comes out in about an hour. I have never seen one fail on an SE, but anything is possible. Are you able to post a picture of the leak? The fuel pump is external and is mounted to a carrier plate under the car near the tank. Very easy to replace.
