NC Hi - New FB GSL-SE Owner

Hello all! Looks like a lot of NC members just signed up. Here's one more! My wife and I live in Western NC and just bought ourselves an 84 GSL-SE in Black. I love the rotary engine and always have. Couple that with a love of all old J-tin, and I had to get a first gen RX-7. Looking forward to learning about these great cars!

Hey, not only another NC member but also another GSL-SE! Considering how "rare" these cars are, I'm always astonished at how many are found and then the folk join up! Thanks for saving another one! As you may have guessed, there is a TON of information on the 1stgen cars here on RX-7 Club, just waiting for your fingers to discover!

Thanks for registering, Derrick, and welcome aboard to RX-7 Club! The more 1stgen folk who join, the better I always say!

Thanks!

Thanks for the warm welcome folks. I'll get some pics up as soon as I get it back out of my garage. Waiting for a lower radiatior hose to come in right now. Our car was originally from nc, and I believe the guy I bought it from in florida bought it from a guy in winston-salem, so I really just brought it back home :-) I really cant wait to drive it!

Yeah I did hear about the BRRR. I am hoping we can participate in some way. Right now my radiator is out of commission, and my DD is about to require an alternator, so.... :-( Hopefully I'll get it all together by the time the BRRR happens. Really mad about that luck. I drove the car all the way from Florida with no problems, get it home and the rad pops. Of course, maybe that's good luck ;-)
Spartanburg is not too far away, you should try to make it too. My sister lives in G'ville so I make the drive a few times.

Hi:

I just joined. I have an 85 GSL-SE that has been in storage for 4 years and is probably in pretty bad shape (I am not that knowledgeable about cars, but I hear that if they sit, they deterioriate). The engine has not been run for > 2 years. I am hoping to pick all your brains re whether the car is worth fixing up, i.e. whether I can expect to recoup the fixup investment in possible later sale. Cheers.
