Hey fellow RX7 enthusiasts

Hello everyone,

My name is Mitchell Reed, you can call me Mitch. Around the time i started my freshman year of high school I was infatuated with rotary engines. I really started looking into how they worked and wondered why I hadn't heard of them before then. Since I was a freshman (a short 3 years ago) I have aspired to get my hands on anything I can with a rotary under the hood. Last weekend I thought I had the perfect one pinned down. It was an '86 FC with a five speed, the motor was disassembled in the trunk of the old tired hatchback. No front or rear bumper, no seats, mismatched wheels, tires with no tread. But with a price tag of only $400 how could I complain, I did want a project car didn't I? I couldn't get a hold of the owner in time, they had already sold it. However when I had given up hope my dad told me about this forum and that if I really wanted to get an FC I ought to join this forum and get the knowledge of the people who live in the Kansas City area. I thought that was my best shot so here I am a confused 17 year old boy with a small amount of money to spend and the ambition of having an FC before i graduate high school in a scarce 9 months. If you have any suggestions on where to look for an FC project car on a tight budget let me know, any info that helps me in my search is much appreciated.

Thanks, Mitch

Time for an update.

I have found an FC that can be had for 500 dollars through a friend of my dads, it needs a motor and tranny, as far as i know that's all it needs. Now back to the earlier problem of finding parts for an FC in my part of the world. I need to know if there is a manual transmission that bolts right up to a S5 13B with little or no modification. I'll be able to elaborate more as soon as i look at the car, but if its straight and has a title I'm not passing for five hundred bucks.
