Hi everyone, my name is Mike I'm from Los Angeles and I have been a FD fan since I have been a kid, and my uncle had one back in 1995 when I was 9 years old. He would take me on rides and show me what that car was capable of. That's when I fell in love with her :blush: Here is my car history. From my first to current

1. 1989 Mazda 626 drove until it stopped on me 289K sold for $800 bucks lol
2. 1992 Toyota corolla same thing 310K miles died on me sold as is
3. 2005 Infiniti G35 Sedan first new car leased
4. 2010 BMW 335i loved the car 426whp and 447tq Lemon car
5. 2007 G35 Coupe 6mt traded in for current car
6. 2010 370z 6mt with Sport package

Yes I want to get a FD for sure found a few options I don't know what to do yet. I found a roller has everything no engine and one with an engine but 132k miles. The roller is clean has 88K miles just need to find an engine. I don't really think I want a V8 I would like to keep it a rotary but the car will be my daily driver. Any advice? Rotary or V8?

THANK YOU for not wanting to swap in a v8 :icon_tup:. Yes the LS is a light weight motor with power and torque, but there is nothing like an RE.

If the FD with 132k is in good condition: the compression is good, the engine is in good physical condition and well maintenance. I would go with that option.

If the roller is a better deal financially (your car history does not seem to warrant that issue ;)), then buy the roller. The roller would be worth the buy if you can get a hold of a 20B :nod:. And if that is the case, maybe rebuild with a large street, or half bridge port :egrin:.

In all I would say buy the roller since you have a car already and can afford to have a project FD.

Thank you I am going to make the FD my daily because the 370 is gonna be gone soon so I want to get the FD get it ready before my Z leaves me :(

I really like the idea of a LS but I rather keep the car as it was light weight rotary as it was meant to be. Plus if I keep it in the rotary family it will cost me a lot less and save a lot of time, which at this time would be best for me and my finances. I do have to do some research on the 20B before I actually pull the trigger I'm going to go see the roller this weekend :icon_tup:

Hey I'm also from Socal! I currently have a Lexus sc300 with a 2jzgte swap and am also looking to get into an FD!

Good choice then, if you will be letting your 370 go for the FD. Because LS swap project may not be your best choice if time and money is not on your side. The LS is however lighter then a 20B (not a 13B REW), but like you said keep it RE :nod:.
