Hello from Northern Interior Canada!

I've been a long-time fan of the FD3S and just recently decided to start my hunt for one. Once I receive one, I will be posting lots of photos of it here. Looking forward to learning from this awesome community!

Thank you for the kind welcome!
I'm located about 2.5 hours away from Grande Prairie, AB.
I figured that this community would be the best place to begin my search after some research. I see that there is a Mazda dealer in Grande Prairie - would you happen to know much about them? I'm not having much luck finding a reputable rotary friendly shop in my area.

Well I am making an assumption here but I doubt that dealer can work on a rotary , Mazda dealers are notoriously useless with them.

You either need to find a reputable rotary specialist or work on it yourself. FWIW I Hauled mine 1000km to Vancouver for work!

i know there are shops in both Edmonton and Calgary but having not used them I cannot comment. Post in the Canadian section and also check the Alberta rotary/RX7 Facebook groups for advice on local shops. I have heard good things about Vex In Calgary but again, not used them myself.

Regardless of who you find, living out there you will need to get your hands dirty at some point. So be sure to take your mechanical skills into account when choosing a car. It may be better in the long run to spend more and get a clean one to save headaches in the future when you live remote.

Regardless we we are here to help !

I have absolutely zero mechanical skills, but I'm eager to learn. I'm entertaining the thought of purchasing one with a salvage title so I wont feel bad wrecking it while learning. I'm originally from Vancouver; if you don't mind me asking, where did you take your car for work and would you take it there again? Thanks again for the kind advice - I really appreciate it!

If you are after a cheap RX7 to learn on i strongly recommend an FB. I learnt lot from mine.

My FD had major work done by ForceFed in Abbotsford. They aren’t cheap but the work is top notch. I will be going back if I decide to go single turbo. 👍
