Hello from the netherlands

Hello,

I'm new here, been reading for a while on this forum but just haven't posted alot yet.
Anyway, my name is John, and I'm from the Netherlands.
I'm 22, study engineering, and work as an engineer / welder / machinist / mechanic / animator. My daily drivers are a BMW e30 3series, and a Suzuki GSX-R 750 motorbike.

For a hobby, I've been racing bikes on the track for a few years, I rode a heavily modified 2stroke for some time, but I sold that one a while ago, and got a very rare 250cc Yamaha which is imported from japan. Modifying cars has never been a hobby of mine, but a lot of friends of mine auto-x their cars, and since I'm able to machine shiny stuff and weld aluminium I'm screwed very often. Over the years I've worked a lot on cars, making custom itb's to modifying pistons to flowing heads to modifying gearboxes to building stainless steel exhaust systems from scratch, so eventually I also got the car bug.

I already owned a BMW 3series, but I wanted something else to toy with , something more special. I always had a thing for rotary engines, because they are in some ways a bit like the 2 stroke motorbike engines I race with. So after a while I found a 86' RX7 FC for sale, and bought it. It was in pretty bad shape so I bought another RX7 for parts. As it turned out the 2nd car I bought was in better shape than the first one, so I parted the first one out. I also started working on the 2nd car. The engine definitly needs work so that's out, and all bad parts on the car have been welded, so this far I have got a decent shell, 2 engines in a crate, and a few crates full with spare parts.

Besides the car I'm also working on restoring en modifying a clayton chassis dyno from the 50's with some friends. Should really be a great and well equipped dyno when done.

If anyone is interested I can open up a topic with some more details and pictures.

since then all of the rusty bits have been repaired, the rear wheel arches have been partly replaced, but the car still needs a lot of work before the new paintjob can go on.
There is also a ton of work left to do on the engine, as I don't plan on using a stock engine.
