Hello from my 7 and I

Hello!

My name is Logan, and like most of you, I have a fascination for rotaries and sports cars. After owning 5 Subarus, I needed to change it up and try something new. The FC RX-7 caught my eye because I love the 80's styling, they're relatively cheap, and of course the rotary engine. I got lucky and picked this one up last year from the daughter of the original owner. It's a '88 GX, so its the NA 4 lug, but I picked it up because it's in great condition, and was a good price. It's needed a bit of work including a new clutch, transmission rebuild, tires, engine gaskets and a tune up. I've been driving it as much as I can while fixing it along the way.

I purchased the car completely stock and have been slowly modifying it along the way. Current mod list is as follows:
Rays Evolution 3 wheels with Kumho Ecsta PS31 tires
Silvers Neomax coilovers
Himni Racing polyurethane engine and transmission mounts
Racing Beat header with custom exhaust
Sony XAV-AX100 stereo
Cold start assist delete
Air pump delete

I plan to continue slowly modifying the car, focusing on handling, drive-ability and aesthetics instead of peak power. The car will likely stay NA, but ITB's with a stand-alone ECU is one of my long term goals. I'm happy to be a part of RX7Club, and am excited to be able to provide insight and meet some fellow enthusiasts!

Welcome to the forum!! Its a beautiful FC and appears to have been maintained very well! Does it have somewhat lower mileage? How's the interior?

Thanks for the warm welcome! The car has 197,700km, and I bought it with 191,000km last spring. Unfortunately I don't have any maintenance records, but I can tell it was well taken care of by the previous owner. The interior is complete and nearly perfect aside from a rip in the drivers seat, broken dash vents (like every FC), and I'm missing the plastic cover for the cargo light. I'd love to find some blue Turbo II seats to swap the stockers with, but they seem quite uncommon. The interiors of these cars sure are a joy to spend time in and seem very well-built, especially for an 80's car.

The car is definitely in great shape given the mileage. To be fair, if they are well cared for they seem to hold up quite well. The vents and radio surround are common to find broken as is the trim around the clock and warning lights. I've seen them just split in half with no outside influence. TII seats would definitely be the cat's pajamas in your car. Yes they are uncommon in blue but not impossible to find.
