Hello!!
Hello, I am a new user. I joined to learn more about rx-7s because I'm really really wanting to get one. Right now I'm driving a 2005 Mustang GT that i do like but I'm in love with rx-7s, always have been.
I was wondering that when looking for one (i want 93-95) what do i need to look out for, do they hold up well, i know rotarys are prone to problems. But i would rather get advice from forums junkies because they normally know their shit. I do like to speed around town sometimes so is it reliable in that way? Most ive seen are rebuilts... is that a good or a bad? Is original everything better or worse. Pretty much just inform me with a short version of what you know about the cars. Maintenance costs? My situation: I am in college, this will be my only car, from a non rx-7 fanboy POV, is it a good or a bad idea to trade my 05 Mustang for an older car (rx-7)... be honest. Thanks for reading my long post!!! |
Come on i know you guys can do some sort of convincing or something...

Well the FDs are sweet. usually require quite a bit of work to keep them running though depending on the miles it has. i've heard the seals go real quick though. The FDs have pretty good power stock. I'm personally too poor to afford the FD so I'm getting an FC which will require more work plus I'll be modifying it heavily. Obviously an 05 is more reliable than a 95 but if you like the style, I say go for it.
