Female rotary fans are easy to find even though they aren't sure what kind of car you're driving..."hey, Mr Mazda!" was the best line I've heard so far when I was at Kennedale's 1/8th mile track flogging the 1stgen RX-7.

Female rotary OWNERS and gearheads are absolute rarities. True gold. I'm sure you're about to be festooned with questions.

Thanks for registering and welcome aboard, Charlana! :icon_tup:

thanks for all the kindness .. means a lot actually

i know how to use the forum search but i dont know if there is any way to find what im looking for the first time.. e.i. s5 tii stater? i dont know it that is too detailed?

also i really do try to do things on my own before asking

back to my project:
my 87 has a vin stating its a non turbo, and was built in hiroshima
i bought it with an almost completely empty engine bay. it has a few wires and hoses here and there, has the tranny. (guy says its for the TII but... the vin says other... i'm not too sure what the difference is in the TII tranny and the NA tranny.. different bolts or just upgraded plates?) came with the vert wheels and excellent tires that i ended up selling back to the guy and getting 35% off the car. the shocks and springs and whole suspension is shot to hell and back. the rotors and calipars are rusted beyong repair but the chassis has no rust what so ever.
oh and missing fuel tank that the guy "forgot" to mention :burn: didnt even have the decency to plug the fuel lines so im pretty sure those need to be replaced.

as for my 88
when i bought it it ran but now idk if my starter is bad or what? i picked it up for 700 and some change but... (dun dun dun) the chassis is so rusted it probably only has 3 more years in it. the engine needs a rebuilt considering i have horrible white smoke when the car is cold. (the smoke problem is how i found this forum.. i was looking for suggestions and troubleshootings) my suspension is going, and going FAST. brakes are soft due to a slight leak in my rear drives calipar. the cat back exhuast was ghettofabed ... i really dont know wtf the people where thinging when they mounted it. hmm.. no radio no a/c.. OH and i recently found a random spark plug in the back of my block? WTF MATE?

what section should i call home?
thanks in advance for everything!
ill have pics soon!

Welcome aboard Charlana... sounds like the 2nd Gen section is where you'll find alot of useful info... and the S4 Pride section is great for inspiration to keep going...

See ya around

Starting a project car like that sounds perfect for a 17 year old! You'll never have as much free time the rest of your life as you do now! Good luck!

Hi Charlana. Looking forward to seeing another FC sliding around. How is the action at Desoto? I'm guessing you've been there a few times if you're into drifting (I think its near tampa ). I try to get to CFRC as often as possible (unfortunately I don't have my car in FL - I would never go to class lol) love going there just to see Chilton and Lowe tear it up.
