Greetings from Florida

Just joined and happy to be back among the rotary rocket world. it started for me back in 1981 when i worked for Mazda North America in Jacksonville rebuilding Rotary Engines for Mazda Dealers. We build them all, RX2s, RX3s, RX4s and RX7s. Occasionally an R100 and a Cosmo. It was a great time, was there for 8 years. Small team of 8 or 9 techs plus two Japanese Reps that rotated over from Japan and a Japanese Manager. There were seveal of these plants, one in New Jersey, another Midwest like Kansas City I believe and one in California.
We rotated our positions, from engine disassembly and inspection to main assembly and test room. Turnover was very low, they treated us well. Our plant was close to Daytona and every year they gave us tickets to the 24 race. One year the company corporate GTU car's engine was built at our plant. We were so proud, The car had MAZDA written sideways along the hood and roof, rear deck, so when it was high on the tracks bank you could make out MAZDA.
So, during those years I owned an RX2, RX4 and RX7. Always wanted an RX3 SP but never could find one.
The RX2 and 4 remained stock, but my RX7 did not. It was a 79, transformed it to a 13b. But it was a special 13B. The rotorhousings were from a 74 RX4 and the side housings came from a 76 RX4,( street ported them) and so were the Rotors. Distributor from a 1985 RX7 SE and flywheel also. Incorporated Racing Beat headers and exhaust along with a Holley Carb also from Racing Beat. Man did it fly and as you all know could take:nod: turns! After I left MANA as we were called, I sold my 7 and started raising a family. Few year later purchased an 88 and kept it stock. Had 278000 on it when I sold it last year. Engine ran fine, issues I had were due to fuel pump, gas tank etc.
So being an old guy now (59) I just purchased my 3rd RX7 and its an 88 as well. Convertible, first time for me but its in perfect condition. Prior owners kept it garaged, this one I'm keeping 4 life. 3rd generation will always be out of my price range. I sure would like to drive one though!
