First time posting
Hi all, Ive been quiet in the back ground absorbing the wealth of information that exist on this website.
My build (started about 2 years ago and 80% complete) In summary, FD3S Chassis seam welded with a 13 point Safety 21 cage and gutted except the dash New street ported and balanced engine from Mazdatrix, Turblown EFR 8374 kit, Exedy stage 4 clutch, 1/2 fuel lines, walbro 400lph x2, >6000cc of injectors etc etc Haltech 1500, TC2, WB, CAN, Racepak, customs wiring AEM water meth ATS LSD, Tein street flex, superpro bushings As we started finishing the project work relocated me so im just planning the 'project end'....lies, it never ends |
Adding more info to the page....a build thread will be made later on.
Before getting the FD, i went through car by car of the era and modern day choices (GTR CLA45)..in the end i wanted RWD and something that not only can scare me but an all round package versed toward response to inputs. That's where the FD3S stood apart from the rest. The build plan later developed with inputs from the build thread, Mazdatrix then engine builder etc. All auto parts are subject to a luxury tax of 30% (on top of US taxes) so that meant careful planning and lengthy periods waiting on shipping. |
The project has reached a point where im chasing gremlins from excessive drive train backlash to contaminated paint and an AC system in need of connection. Just when the car is coming together... life happens and im moved. so at a cross road...i know im not going to sell the first FD, but do i get a second? Do i buy a second engine but go all out on lightening and PP and stick it in a miata and take it back home.
Until i figure what what happens ill still continue collecting the last bits for the build and have hope that i will at least get to drive her a few time a year. |
