First rx7
Hey guys. My name is Alan. I just recently bought an 86 fc na that was not running but has a near perfect body for $400. So far I have discovered the issue is a no spark condition. I've already done a good deal of diagnosis work and I'm making progress. My goals for the fc are to autocross in stock class until I get money situated for an engine swap. I'm probably going to use a single turbo 13b. Once the swap is done the car will be used for drifting at traction optional events.
take it easy guys! |
Welcome Alan.

Gotta tell ya FC was the baddest around in the 80's in my opinion..
|
Thanks for all the positive input guys. I went to the traction optional drift event yesterday and saw a red s5 turbo out there. It just lit a fire under me to step my game up on my fc!
|
Hi Alan, congrats on your first Rx.
|
I'm glad the "dont crush em, restore em" way of life is alive in the tuner world. I just got my first FC as well.
|
Hi there, I just picked up a FC also
|
Welcome alan. I'm new to the fc too. You're lucky btw. We used to make runs to memphis all the time because the junkyards were epic :P
|
Shinigami710, not anymore man. I went to three yards and none had an fc. One said that they crushed one not a week before I picked up my fc T-T
|
$400?! That's a steal!
Now gut it, build it and have fun! |
Welcome!!

nice find man, welcome to the community! i have an 88 fc that i pulled from a bone yard back in February of 08. it has been my dd/project for a while. it's currently under the knife getting a new differential and prepping for a 4 port bridge port quad injected itb monster. my autocrosser when she gets back on the road and probably step my game up later to road racing. good luck with the new 7 and if you need any help, feel free to ask. btw, a friend of mine picked up an 87 that the previous owner fought with over a year with no spark, i put in one of my spare ecu's and it fired right up off of gasoline sprayed through the intake. added a new fuel pump and motor runs good.
this is a great site and the rotary community is one of the friendliest and everyone is always happy to help each other out to the best we can. again, WELCOME! |
Congrats on the buy. Good luck with the project.
