Finally gave in and took my Sister's RX-7

My Sister (Older) bought this 1987 new. It was her 2nd new RX-7, she loves this car. She drove it for a number of years, and then inherited our Father's S-10 pickup. She drove the S-10 instead of the RX because she could "haul" things better. Don't get me wrong, she hauled things in the RX, more then once I saw it with new tree plantings or bags of Top Soil for plants sticking out of the Hatch, or loaded in the back. But now the pick- up would do that, and the RX was driven for fun. She kept it in her garage but drove it less and less. There is a whole nother saga of how it went in and out of use for the next 15 years that will be another post. But basically it sat in her garage. Last year she retired (I'm 66, she's 76) and really wanted the RX to go to a "Good Home" (mine). This discussion had gone on for at least 5 years. So finally last Spring (2017), I moved Cars, Motorcycles, and "Stuff" around in my Shop, and the RX has a new Home.

Sounds like the car went to the perfect home! How many miles are on the car and does it need a lot of attention? Would love to see some pictures of the car when you get a chance.

I have returned

Sorry it took me so long to get back to the Forum, life and Chemo, got in the way. Thanks to the people that welcomed me to the Forum. I'm not really a "Posting" fool, but I'm looking forward to following along, and to cruse around to see others "Go-Buggy's". I'm going to try and Post some Pic.'s of my car, hopefully I don't bring the whole Site down. The Pic.'s are just some quick ones I took a few weeks ago just so I could Post them. You can tell I was in a hurry, I didn't even knock the dust off. My next venture will be to get some opinions about getting the Rad. Brackets off the old Rad. so I can use them to mount the new Alumunumunum Rad. I'll have to go back and look at the "New Guy" rules about Posting "XX" times here before tossing my question out on the "Techy" Form. So now to see if I can get the Pic.'s to tag along with this message.

Thanx... JTSki...

Thank you for taking the time to get some pictures and post them up!! The car looks fantastic! Its very clean and will make an amazing driver I'm sure. How's the interior? Its also a fairly uncommon color as well. Your sister picked a great car!

Looks just like my 1st RX-7 and the one that got me addicted to spinning Doritos. SE with phone dials for the WIN!

Congrats on claim-jumping the car and good on ya for getting it back to its former glory.

I got my Brackets!!

Kinda got distracted by health and Life again. Now I'm working my way back, and the main things is to get back at the Maxda! I had large gaps of time between trying to find Brackets for my new Radiator. There is a Salvage yard here that had " alot of RX7's". Now the gentalman who runs the yard is "casual" about his hours of operation, so I'm told you need to call and be sure when he's there. I'd call leave the info about my RX7 and what I'm looking for, and wait. I'd get distracted and forget to follow up. So this Spring I got back to it. I called the number and got a woman's Voice Mail... New search, found a Radiator WITH BRACKETS on EBay $54.00 with free shipping. Radiator had some damage but I didn't care I wanted the Brackets. I have it now and the Brackets look new! The compteat item is realy clean. Now its time to decide on new hoses, belts, and stock or electric fan. When I get that done and start putt'n Her back ta'getter I'll try to post some Pic's. Don't anyone hold their breath, I'm old not fast.
