I actually wrote this long post the first time, but I guess I hit the wrong button. I am Steve Hampton (I didn't think we were suppose to use our real name). I am the "H" in CHAP Racing which has been racing since 1972 and racing Mazda Rotarties since 1980. The first car I handled was the righthand drive factory Gatorade Rx3 brought over for the 24 Hour. Then there was the Rx3 that was on the pole at the runoffs. Then the odd GT Rx7 and finally IT7 from the time they started IT7. I also built a rotary hillclimber for that held the record at Chimney Rock for a few years. I recently got another Hillclimber Special back on the circuit and still campaign an IT7 when I can get up enough money. I have been driving Rx7's as daily drivers for 20+ years including an '80, '81, '87, and now a '91 (with 3 parts cars).
I am unemployed, retired or the president of my corporation depending on whose asking. I think I can qualify as a Motorsports Engineer and fabricator. However, I don't know anything about this posting.
