I have had an RX7 for a few years now and I must say it is fun to drive. It is a 1980 with a LSD and rear disk brakes from a 83 GSL. I have always liked the style and performance the RX7 has to offer. My other ride is a 2008 Suzuki Hayabusa. Although the acceleration and ultimate top speed out strips my RX7, the RX7 is nicer on bad days.

Welcome to the club....The Hayabusa is one hell of a ride. Pics would be great to add on too :P

It has been a while getting a picture of my FB RX-7 because it is in another town. I had intended on including a picture with this post but I don't see how I can upload one.

It has been sitting for years so it looks unloved but that could not be further from the truth.

I am currently looking for a massive electrical failure. The No lights, no starter, even the dashboard clock won't run.

It is a 1980 fb, I have webber carburetors (yep cold starts are fun), it appears that the rats nest has been removed but it was butchered. all ignition components are stock. The air pump has been removed as well as the AC compressor.

The car parked under it's own power but now no power gets from the battery to the rest of the car. This makes me think it is a main connection that has corroded or a main fuse. I have checked the main fuse-able link on the strut tower and it is good, as are all the fuses in the under dash block. I noticed from the wiring diagram there are fuse-able links in the steering column but I have no idea what they look like.

I was wondering if anyone has run into a similar problem.

The "Bringing an fb back from the dead" thread was very informative but it assumed your RX7 didn't have a complete electrical failure.

From my hours of sifting through threads I see this forum has some good members and I look forward to becoming part of this community.

My Bike the day I bought it. It snowed the night before so I had to trailer it home. I need to stop buying bikes in February when I live in Northern Idaho.

And my plate for the Hayabusa. It is a refrence to the orignal tag line from the 1999 launch of the Hayabusa.

That's pretty cool. I want to keep my RX-7 and buy a gixxer too, but I'm going with the gixxer. It's something new to play with. :)

Yet another wrinkle in the electrical system. My coils were not getting any power after running fine for several weeks.

Of course I checked all the fuses and they were good. I jumpered the wire to the coils and the car ran so I knew the issue was between the fuse block and the coils.

As I was tracing wires my dad, whom is a mechanic asked if I checked the fuses. I told him that was the first thing I looked at. Then he suggested I inspect the contacts on the fuse block. Sure enough they had a small amount of corrosion.

I ripped out the fuse block and cleaned it with elctromotive and q-tips. Now it runs great.

As I only have 8 post now I just hope the guy with a similar issue reads this post.
