General information:
Year : 1993
Mileage : 57984
Color : CYM (Actual CYM not a repaint)

I introduced myself about 5 years ago when I bought my first FD back in late 2012. I bought a 93 BB Touring with Tan interior from someone in Savannah GA back then.

During my time off between jobs I spent a month abroad and actually reconnected with the previous owner who lives in Abu Dhabi at the moment. I told him 5 years ago when I bought the car that I would be willing to sell it back to him if he ever wanted since I knew he really liked the BB with Tan interior combination. I was indifferent but the price was great (18750 with 18,000 miles on it). When I met him again in Abu Dhabi I told him that I was serious that if he ever wanted to buy the car back even now I'd be willing to sell it back to him. He really appreciated it and told me that his contract abroad would be up in 2020 and that he would definitely take me up on this offer to buy it back. Well after starting my job and making way more than I was previously it struck me that if he did buy his car back I would be FD-less. So with my 30th birthday approaching I decided to go into the market of buying another FD.

Then came my search for the spec that I really wanted back in 2012. A CYM FD was my goal this time. Well the car came up and the car was within an affordable price range for me. So I proceeded to start the transaction. I found a CYM on a website for a dealership that I never heard of and they were located in Long Island who allegedly specialize in old Porsches. After doing research on the dealership I was concerned since they had mixed reviews. I reached out to GoodfellasFD3S and he offered to do an overall car inspection for me (go to good member section for my props to Rich). After the inspection I was able to get 5k off the car and on Wednesday she arrived. I was able to do a first drive on Friday (thanks MI weather) and she is amazing.

Unfortunately my home up in Michigan is only a 2 car garage so my soon to arrive brand new company lease car will have to sleep outside but having 2 FD's in the garage and walking out to that every morning will make going to work suck way less.

For those of you in the community lamenting the steady decay of original FD's please rest that at least 1 more CYM is going to stay in the hands of a true rotary fan and will always, ALWAYS have a 13B under the hood and a roof over her head.

Congratulations, you've been added to the CYM Owner's club thread.... https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati.../#post12264909
An old, and not too frequently updated thread I've managed off and on after becoming a CYM owner myself.

Thanks! I'm in ypsilanti. Do you live off 94? I'm driving my second across 94 from Iowa to bring her home .

Yes two running FDs at that. True first world problems.

CAUTION: Rich has openly stated on other threads that he "may" soon add a CYM to his collection. :) Just hoping you didn't share a spare set of keys with him, or your garage security code ;)

No, a little farther easy on US 20. 94 is about 30 min west of here

Another Michigan FD, welcome to the club! Where about in Michigan are you? If you're ever looking to meet up with some Michigan rotary guys in the Metro-Detroit area we've got our own forum too.

Nooooo this baby belongs to Chris :)

One odd story to tell: When test driving this CYM for him and ripping through the gears I had a very strange case of Deja Vu. Upon returning to the exotic car dealership I checked the VIN closely, sent a text message to a buddy, and verified that I had already driven this FD about a year prior down in Tampa Bay. Moral of the story? Always listen to your rotary intuition  :D

Welcome!! Beautiful FD! CYM is by far my favorite color on the FD!! If you're looking for a meet, I'll be hosting another rotary meet at my place in July. We do BBQ, cruise, pictures, and I'll even open my shooting range if guys want. I'm 20 mins East of Cedar Point.

I love CYM. It looks so good in person, and was the only color specific to the R1. Great collector. I moved from Canton last August. I only made it through two winters and decided Michigan wasn’t the place for me, but I enjoyed the lakes. Caught a lot of fish down in Belleville!

Nice CYM! I have some friends in South Bend and Indy from when I went to school in Lafayette.

I too love the black and tan.
