We are located in Omaha NE. We are getting ready to sell a Yellow RX-7. Original owner, 42000 miles 5 speed, brown leather interior. This car has always been garaged, parts are all original. Never been in an accident. In a ballpark what is this car's value.

Sounds like a nice car if it hasn't been sitting. Posting in the marketplace section is the correct area when listing the car for sale. Many different factors will determine the car's value. Condition and originality are everything to get top dollar.

Ball park: $5000 - $10,000. As Dave says, lot of different factors will determine the value. Assume, since its been garaged and only has 42,000 miles, rust is not an issue. However mechanical condition can deteriorate over time with lack of use and maintenance. Gas goes bad and can gum up lines and the carburetor, tanks become a breeding ground for corrosion and contamination, seals dry out, calipers freeze up and on and on.....

Cosmetic condition is one thing, mechanical condition is another. Both are important considerations when determining value. Values have been increasing with the very best cars sometimes recently fetching mid to upper teens. Others can struggle to break 5K. Because there is a wide range of condition, there is a wide range of values. Common sense really, the fewer the issues and the better the car runs and drives, the more it should be worth. Original ownership is a good plus as would be all the original paperwork and receipts / records they still might have.
