1st Time Rotary Owner

This is my very first rotary. Better now then never right? IIts a Stock 1984 Mazda Rx7 Gsl for $200 cash! Couldn't pass it up. I have been looking for the right street/drift ride (on a budget of course) and I think I did just that!
I have a big journey ahead of me and its going to worth ever bit of time and effort once I get it on the road.
I will do my best to add every modification I do so that you can get a sense of how much it will cost and how hard of a job it will be for you DIY guys out there like me!

Now a little about the car.
1st off it turns over but doesn't start. If you spray state fluid into the carb it will start for a second and die out. Fuel problem? I will pull the fuel pumpand manually give it power to see if it work, maybe give it a bang or 2 because I don't have an idea when this car was started last. I will get back to that.

I see wires not connected so Im going to connect them back with a little bit of sodder and wrap it up.

Also rented a compression tester to test the motor. I will get back to that with results

Any recommendations on what I should do first?

Its a great find to be honest!! An unmolested 84 GSL in Tender Blue Metallic is a great find any day in my book!! Personally I would restore the car and enjoy it the way it is. But as for the running issue, there are a few questions that come to mind.

How long has the car been sitting? The fuel in the tank can caramelize and solidify and will do the same in the pump ruining that. The tank can be removed and boiled out and resealed, but the pump and filter will need replaced and the lines will need blown out with compressed air after running some cleaner of your choice through them. You will also want to rebuild the carb. Rebuild kits are still available at around $40 each. Autozone sells a GP Sorensen kit for about that. That however is just the tip of the iceberg. Next will be plugs (NGK BR8EQ14) wires (NGK) cap, rotor, air filter, belts, hoses, oil and filter change, trans and diff oil change, coolant flush, vacuum line, brake and suspension inspection, tire replacement, lighting check, ground cleaning. Once that's done, the car should run and drive beautifully provided that there are no issues with the engine, diff or trans.
