1975 Mazda REPU

Hey everyone, My name is Aaron.
I'm probably going to be getting a 1975 Mazda REPU that's been sitting in my Grandpa's garage for at least 15 years. I have a few questions on what to do before this can be turned over, obviously oil, battery, check gas, etc. etc. etc. but I'm not sure about the seals in the engine. Do apex seals dry rot? I've never worked on these engines but I've been reading about them. If you noticed my name, I'd like to turbo it eventually once I've got it running good. I'll try and post some pictures sometime today. There's only some surface rust on the body, but the bed is in pretty rough shape. I can only get to the drivers side at the moment and the interior needs reupholstered.
Also, it's automatic, I was wondering if I could swap a 5 speed from an RX-7 into it, and where would I get the clutch pedal assembly? Just a few of the things on my mind. Thanks everybody!

Thanks! I will be sure to do that. Just trying to get some of my thoughts out there and so you all can know that there will be another REPU build coming. I've only seen like 2 other REPU builds on here.

Yeah I dug it out of the garage yesterday. We threw a battery in it, and it was turning by hand pretty easily. Bumped the starter, and it got stuck. We took off the inspection plate and turned the flywheel and bumped the starter again and now it's turning over pretty good. But the battery is weak now and also it's not getting the spark. The points are new, but are corroded from sitting for 15 years. So we're going to try and clean them today as well as take the battery to autozone and get it charged. Hopefully we'll get it started today. Autozone can get the points for $3.99 a set and there is 2 sets, but we're going to try and clean them first. I have a lot of rust to fix lol. Pics to come.
