What side skirts should I get?
What sideskirts would look good on my car:
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hreadid=287050 it's the white car on the first post.... I'm thinking either RE-amemiya, or apex'i, does anyone have any other suggestions? |
RE N1's, Feed CF ones, MS 15th aniv., or the Apex'i skirts. The RE N1 rears look good too :)
With your front end, I'd go RE-Amemiya.
Go with the Feed carbon fiber side skirts that go with that front bumper. But if you do that you would be copying me, so dont do it. Border racing (i think) also makes a cool fender/side skirt combo that looks nice.
mazdaspeed GT-C style side skirts also go well with that front kit.
Yeah your all FEED now, so maybe continue the FEED thing...
Hey, s-thetikz, that chick in your avatar is hot man.
FEED
FEED is nice, but it takes forever to get....plus I also don't want to have any replica stuff on my car either

Buy the feed replica's from rotary extreme.

well it's not even that...I don't know if the FEED sideskirts will go well with the type 2 bumper considering it was made to go with the type 2r kit with the front fenders and the rear fender kit. I was looking for sometihng more conservative or plain looking that will bring the sides lower to match the front, such as the apex'i or the RE sides or any other sides for that matter that are clean looking
Something roundish would be nice, but not too round since the Type II isnt all round only like the Type IIR.
The FEED sideskirts where out before the TYPE IIR bumper was... The older style RE-Amemiya skirts would look good, or the apexi ones, or even the originals (USED) |
1FooknTiteFD,
I've seen a similar combo (in person) of a front like that with the older Knight Sports/Racing Beat side skirts which looked really good together. RE-A also has (had) skirts very similar: http://www.racingbeat.com/Images/67106b.jpg The car I saw also used the Veilside rear skirts (everything molded). I wouldn't necessarily to that route with the rear but the rest looks really good. IMO, since the front extends out to the sides of the car a little bit, you would want your skirts to do the same. Good luck! |
I don't see why he wouldn't want replica parts; everything from Rotary Extreme is cheaper and fits perfectly (at least from what i've heard and seen) and it's certainly much cheaper than ordering it from a importer of original parts :D
I guess if you want original parts go with the RE-Amemiya sideskirts: http://www.re-amemiya.co.jp/gallery/..._c_go/side.jpg
ahh....decisions decisions...
I dunno man, a lot look good...but gid rid of that god awful wing!
apex sideway, is that the JDM sideskirts or is that the RE Amemiya one? They look very similar to me in that picture....
dammit where is TCPlaya when you need him? |
thanks NukeGenius :D. azechi reiko - search her online .and as for the side skirts, I think FEED cf add ons would be easiest to deal with, and look the cleanest. if u want that CF look.
I agree. I was talking about the CF add ons when I said go with feed sideskirts. But that would mean he would be copying me, so dont do that.

Ah, ok. It's RTS3GEN's car. That's (above) what it looks like right now! ;) New bumper and other things going on as well. He has new rims since that picture was taken. Once it's all done, I'm sure he'll post pictures of it. :) |
Jesus man, how sweet will that car be when he gets done!

https://store2.yimg.com/I/rotorworks_1784_22260216RE AMEMIYA Mazda OEM and RE AMEMIYA are damn near identical aren't they? apex sideway, is that the JDM sideskirts or is that the RE Amemiya one? They look very similar to me in that picture.... |

Hehe that's why i said near identical :D Someone in the last page tried correcting me by saying the sideskirts i posted in the pic were Japan OEM when in fact they were RE-A . . . .
Biggest difference in the OEM and any aftermarket side skirt is its 2 piece, which means VERY cheap to ship vis shipping air or freight.
Erebuni makes a side skirt that looks identical to the Mazda OEM one's (as near as I can tell). I don't know what the fit of them is like, since Erebuni is kind of known for their body kits needing some modification to fit properly. They are made of fibreglass I believe. The model is Style 29
And yes they are two pieces. http://img33.photobucket.com/albums/...6_122459AA.jpg |
AUM---Your right, it does look almost identical. I think one of the biggest things that the best quality of the Original side skirts is that they are urethane.
Urethane is definitely hands down better than fibreglass. That’s one of the reasons, as well as the fit question of the erebuni, why I would choose the OEM skirts. The advantage that the erebuni have over OEM is price.
I think the Feed carbon fiber skirts would look sick! And if that is a carbon fiber wing on your car (can't tell from the pic) it would look even sicker!:D
